 globally Madonna is the best-selling female artist ever.

Later that same year came the scandalous "Like a Virgin" performance at the first ever MTV awards and then the album release of "Like a Virgin". After all that was when Madonna truly took off
 and the rest as they say is history.

There is no such thing as a british accent because Britain is made up of a bunch of different countries and regions. And when you live in a place long enough you do pick up an accent. When she moved back
 in 2002 she lost it quickly but she still has a slight english accent. And she's actually not snobbish at all if anything she was kinda snobbish in the early 90's but around Ray of Light she became much more down to earth

o where near her sales or hits and is the most successful solo artist on the Billboards charts which tracks sales, far higher than MJ
